Hello, Wood Connection fans! It’s Melanie from Find it, Make it, Love it where my sister in law, Steffany and I blog about everything from kids crafts to furniture refinishing.
We are so excited to be guest posting for The Wood Connection today! With Valentine’s Day coming up fast, we decided to create something to do with love. : )
We have to admit, we LOVE how this turned out!
Wood Connection supplies:
small letters L, V, and E
wood stain and white paint
A few other supplies:
Start by painting the slat sign white.
Then, stain the letters.
Cut a heart out of cardboard about the same size as the letters. (The heart is our letter ‘O’ in LOVE.) Use a little hot glue and wrap the heart with yarn.
Tie some ribbon and little keys to the yarn wrapped heart.
Now for the mason jar. We found it best to pre-drill a hole in the slat sign:
Next, pre-drill a hole in the pipe clamp (these can be found at the Home Depot or Lowes.)
Next, match up the two pre-drilled holes,
and screw the clamp in place.
We added some lace and jute to the jar before tightening it in place.
….and one more key – they are so cute!
To tighten the pipe clamp around the mason jar, just twist the screw until it is secure.
Use wood glue to attach the letters,
and hot glue to attach the heart to the slat sign.
Add a little something to the mason jar vase and hang it!
Thanks so much to the Wood Connection for having us today! We never get tired of wandering around their store and website for adorable inspiration and projects!
