Hi! Mindy here from Savvy Sisters. I want to share with you a fun way to “frame” a picture. I’ve been trying to finish decorating my boys bedroom. My husband built these awesome 7 foot long shelves and I wanted to fill them up pictures of my boys and all their favorite heroes and characters. There’s a few adjustments I want to make, but for the most part it’s done! And I love how my polka dot shadow box turned out! It was the perfect addition to the shelves. And it was super easy and fast to make!
11×14 box sign (available in stores)
Minwax Provencial Stain
scrapbook paper (You will need two pieces because one doesn’t quite fit)
clip (from Target)
First measure your scrapbook paper and cut it to fit.
Then lightly sand the wood.
Using a foam brush, paint the stain over all the edges. Use an old rag or paper towels to remove excess stain. Then let dry.
Using wood glue, glue your scrapbook inside the shadow box. Make sure to line up the pattern of the scrapbook paper.
Attach the clip, I used e6000 to attach mine, but you could use other things.
And your done! clip in your favorite 8×10 photo!
I might have to make myself a few more of these for other rooms in my house. I love how it turned out and I love the idea of being able to change out the picture super easy. Happy crafting!
