Scrapbook paper is a great way to add your favorite patterns to your wood crafts.
Here at The Wood Connection, we do something a little different than you may be used to. We do not use mod podge on any of our crafts. Our secret? Craft Wood Glue.
This is a white craft glue that dries clear. Once the glue is applied, the trick is to smooth out a thin, even coat using a foam paint brush. If you use too much glue, the paper will bubble. Be sure to focus on the edges and corners.
The glue dries quickly, so you must work fast. Place your cut out scrapbook paper on the wood. Be sure to be precise before putting down, as you won’t be able to move it once it adheres.
The sanding block may expose the wood around the edges, so that’s where DIY distressing comes in. Choose an accent color, or the same paint color you used on the sides. Dip the tip of your foam brush in the paint.
